Aldgate Night Tennis is fun, competitive and social tennis played under lights each Tuesday from 7pm at the Club.

 

Night Tennis is a great way to have a hit in addition to other tennis you may play or if perhaps if your weekends are full.

 

Season Starts tomorrow night from 7pm.

 

First week ONLY, anyone is welcome to turn up, just come down and try it out, have a hit and if you would like to sign up into one of our eight teams, please see me. We have limited places left (I need approx. 4-5 more players).

 

Cost $7 which includes lights/balls. Also, there is our Canteen – soft drinks and nibbles. BYO wine etc welcome.

Dear New Players, Current Players and Past Players and Friends of Aldgate Night Tennis.

 

Season Starts Tue 25th Oct 7pm Aldgate Courts. Arrive from 6:45pm if you would like a warm up hit first.

 

Welcome everyone to the 2016/17 season!

 

Jocelyn and I have been interstate the past fortnight or so, thank you to those who got slow replies from us, we are now back on deck and can answer any questions you may have etc etc. Jocelyn and I have been joined by long time player and ‘late night crew’ member Leigh McInnes as your organisers for the season. Thanks Leigh.

 

A special welcome to our new enquirers and new players for this season, positions and teams may change but notionally,  Josephine Harris (Hit & Miss), Nigel and Kate Gibson (Racqueteers) and the McAnna Family Ian, Devon and Debra (Double Shots)!

FAQ

Our weeknight social night competition runs weekly on summer evenings from Oct to March, with a break over Xmas.

  • All matches are played at the Aldgate Tennis Club each week, under lights from 7pm on various weeknights. Tue – social comp.
  • Tuesday Night – Mixed Social Comp
    • 7pm prompt start
    • The competition is doubles only, mixed and is competitive but very social in nature.
    • The format is four players play each week per team, ranked in order of ability. Men and women play according to ability.
    • Each team may have a list of  5-6 names to roster through and cover absences throughout the season.
    • Each player plays 3 doubles sets, with their Team playing a total of 6 sets for the night.
    • Canteen Open (welcome to BYO beer/wine/nibbles also)
  • Players come from from all over the Hills and even up from Town and all are welcome.
  • Standards range from beginners who are just learning to experienced (former) Division 1 players. You will have an enjoyable hit of tennis, no matter what your current standard.
